Set Up a Loyalty Program

Configure a points-based or stamp-based loyalty program in FluteOS — earning rules, redemption tiers, milestone automations, and enrollment QR codes.

Overview

FluteOS loyalty programs increase repeat visit frequency and give you a structured reason to communicate with guests. This guide walks through setting up a points-based program, creating redemption tiers, configuring milestone automations, and generating an enrollment QR code to deploy at your venue.

Prerequisites

  • FluteOS account with at least one venue configured
  • (Optional) A connected POS or Stripe account for automatic points-on-spend tracking

Steps

1. Open Loyalty settings

Go to Brand Activations > Loyalty > New Program.

2. Choose a program type

Type Best for
Points Venues with tableside ordering or POS integration (points earned on spend)
Stamps Simple punch-card style programs; no POS required

Select your type and click Continue.

3. Configure earning rules (Points program)

Define how guests earn points:

  • On spend: Enter points per dollar (e.g., 1 point per $1 spent). Requires POS or Stripe integration.
  • Per visit: Enter points per verified visit (e.g., 10 points per visit). FluteOS records a visit when a guest scans any QR experience at your venue.
  • Bonus events: Add bonus point triggers:
    • +50 points on first enrollment
    • +25 points on birthday month
    • +20 points for completing a QR survey
    • +100 points for referring a new guest

Click Add Rule for each earning rule you want to include, then click Save Earning Rules.

4. Configure stamp rules (Stamps program)

Set the number of stamps for a full card (e.g., 10) and define the reward for completing a full card (e.g., "Free cocktail of your choice"). Optionally allow digital stamp reset after redemption for repeat cycles.

5. Create redemption tiers

Click Add Tier for each reward level:

Tier name Points required Reward
Bronze reward 100 points $5 off your next visit
Silver reward 250 points Free cocktail
Gold reward 500 points VIP table upgrade
Platinum reward 1,000 points Private tasting experience

Tip: Keep your first tier reachable in 2–3 visits. A guest who earns their first reward quickly is dramatically more likely to continue participating.

6. Configure program tiers (optional)

If you want named membership tiers (Bronze Member, Silver Member, etc.), go to Tiers and define the cumulative point thresholds for each tier. Enable Automatic tier upgrades so FluteOS promotes guests when they cross a threshold.

7. Set up milestone automations

Go to Loyalty > Automations and enable the default milestone triggers:

  • Near reward reminder — SMS sent when a guest is within 20 points of a redemption tier: "You're almost there! 20 more points earns you a free cocktail at Copper Vine."
  • Tier upgrade notification — SMS or email sent when a guest reaches a new tier.
  • Points expiration warning — SMS sent 30 days before points expire (if you set expiration under Advanced Settings).

Customize the message text for each automation to match your brand voice.

8. Publish the program

Click Publish Program. The program is now live and visible in enrolled guests' 360° profiles.

9. Create an enrollment QR code

Go to QR Experiences > New Experience and choose the Loyalty Enrollment template. This creates a pre-built capture flow that:

  • Explains the program and shows the first redemption tier
  • Collects name, email, and phone with SMS opt-in
  • Enrolls the guest and awards signup bonus points
  • Shows the guest their starting balance

Click Publish and download the QR code. Print it for table tents, add it to your menus, and embed it in your welcome email campaign.
